The community of Val-d’Or is convinced that dynamic regions, such as ours, ultimately depend on and flourish due to the active involvement of their young people, as well as on the concerted efforts which the local community makes to ensure that the social environment responds to the needs, wants, and especially to the capacity for commitment of the region’s youth; one way Val-d’Or responds to these needs is by providing its young people with top-notch schooling.

Val-d’Or offers English-language and French-language educational services at the elementary and secondary-school levels. Specially designated schools provide for intensive second-language immersion programs, international education, and alternative education. All this is done while ensuring that the needs and values of our students’ families are taken into account and respected. A Professional-Education Centre, as well as an Adult-Education Centre, are also present in the city.
